The Australian Embassy in Seoul is saddened to announce that our dear friend and colleague, Richard Fogarty, Counsellor (Education and Science) passed away suddenly yesterday.
Richard was a valued member of the Embassy and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife and two children, extended family, and many friends around the world, including in Seoul.
We request that his family's privacy be respected at this difficult time.
There is a condolence book at the Embassy which can be signed between the hours of 10 am to 4 pm today, Monday and Tuesday. We request that no flowers are sent to the family's home, nor to the Embassy.
We express appreciation for the assistance provided by Korean medical staff and relevant Korean government authorities.
We do not intend providing any other comment at this time.
