STRENGTHEN AUSTRALIA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH KOREA
AND
CELEBRATE
THE BILATERAL YEAR OF FRIENDSHIP 2011

The Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF) invites applications for funding from individuals or organisations for projects in support of the AKF goals:

• Increase public awareness of Australia in Korea, and of Korea in Australia, and the importance of the bilateral relationship
• Develop partnerships in areas of shared interest in the bilateral, regional and global context
• Increase Australians’ capacity to effectively engage with Korea.

In 2010-11 funding priority will be given to projects in Korea or Australia which will celebrate the bilateral Year of Friendship 2011, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Australia and Korea, and have the potential to build long-term, sustainable links between the two countries. Projects may be in any area of the broad spectrum of Australia’s relationship with Korea including Geopolitical Relations; Economics and Trade; Education, Science and Technology; Society, Culture, the Arts, Sports and Media.

Funding guidelines and application forms can be obtained from the AKF website http://www.dfat.gov.au/akf/.

The deadline for the lodgement of applications is 5pm (AEDST) Thursday
18 March 2010.
