AKF-Young Gen leaders 2010

Australia-Korea Next Generation Leaders Exchange Program

The Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF), in partnership with the Korea Foundation (KF), conducts the Australia-Korea Next Generation Leaders Exchange Program annually. The program aims to develop the leadership skills of potential and/or current leaders from both Australia and Korea in specifically identified subject areas or themes.

In November 2007, a delegation of 10 select young Australian leaders travelled to Korea for an eight day program focusing on environmental issues. The visit was reciprocated in August 2008 when a delegation of young Korean political and environmental leaders travelled to Australia for eight days.

From 27 June – 7 July 2009, an Australian delegation of 10 young leaders in the field of renewable energy and sustainable development, travelled to Korea to participate in a number of briefings and meetings with their counterparts on the theme of "Green Growth". The visit program included site visits to relevant institutions and industries. The delegation built professional networks in Korea that will assist in strengthening bilateral cooperation on environmental issues in the future. In 2010, Australia will host a delegation of young leaders from Korea under this program.
