Mailed-in Applications
From 1 January 2023, Adult Passport Renewals and Child Passport Renewals for eligible applicants can be lodged via postal mail instead of in person appointments.
Please note that excludes adults applying for First Adult Passport, Replacement Passport (Lost or Stolen or Damaged) or Emergency Passports, First Child Passports and passports for children over 15 years old.
All first time adult and child passport applications and renewals for children aged 16 and 17 years old must be lodged in person.
If you require one of these passports, please make an in-person appointment at the Embassy.
Fees apply for all services. Fees are only accepted by credit card or debit card.

- Please make sure to prepare a high quality & unedited photograph both on your face and the background of the photograph.
- We advise you to obtain a JPEG or JPG file of your photograph and email to us when you send your application via mail ([email protected]).

Required documents:
- Printed single page renewal form
- 2 Australian Passport photos, less than six months old, with full name written by the applicant on the back of 1 photo. Please do not attach these photos to the application form
- Photocopy of your most recent passport (photo page only). Please do not send the actual passport if you would like to keep it as we will not return it to you.
- Photocopy of photo ID to confirm your address
- Completed Passport Credit/Debit Card Authorisation Form (Please check the Passport fees)

Child passport renewal applications can be mailed-in provided the applicant is:
• aged up to 15 years old and
• has held a previous passport
Required documents:
- Printed application form (PC8)
- 2 Australian Passport photos, less than six months old.

The back of one photo must be endorsed by the child’s guarantor, writing “This is a true photo of [the child’s full name] and signed in black pen.

Please do not attach these photos to the application form
- Parents proof of identity

Copies of both parents’ identity documents that show their name, photo, signature and current address.
- A guarantor must sign section 11 of the application form. Remember the guarantor must also endorse the back of a passport photo.

-Parental consent is required for a child passport. Everyone who is giving consent must sign section 15 of the form in front of a witness.

1. Prepare the documents listed above.
Remember to sign the renewal form and ensure your signature fits within the white box (if your signature extends outside of the white box, try again using the white box on the right-hand side). Children 10 years or older must provide a signature unless there is a medical reason or disability that prevents them from signing. See image below.

Please date underneath your signature using the form DD/MM/YYYY. For example, 11th August 2022 should be 11/08/2022
