From 1 September 2022, Adult Passport Renewals for eligible applicants can be lodged via postal mail instead of in person appointments.

Please note that excludes adults applying for First Adult Passport, Replacement Passport (Lost or Stolen or Damaged) or Emergency Passport. If you require one of these passports, please make an in-person appointment at the Embassy.

Required documents:

-Printed single page renewal form  

-2 Australian Passport photos, with full name written by the applicant on the back of 1 photo. Please do not attach these photos to the application form

-Photocopy of your most recent passport (photo page only). Please do not send the actual passport if you would like to keep it as we will not return it to you.

-Photocopy of photo ID to confirm your address

-Credit card authorisation form for payment

How to lodge a mail-in application for Adult Passport Renewal:

  1.  Prepare the documents listed above. Remember to sign the renewal form and ensure your signature fits within the white box (if your signature extends outside of the white box, try again using the white box on the right-hand size). See image below.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   - Please date underneath your signature using the form DD/MM/YYYY. For example, 11th August 2022 should be 11/08/2022                                   - Please also ensure you have written your full name on the back of one of your passport photos

  3. Once we receive your documents, we will charge you credit card and email you the receipt. The processing time will start from the day you are charged. Please note we are currently experiencing processing times between six to ten weeks. Incomplete applications may not be accepted and may cause further delays.                                                                                                                                                                                                                
  4. When your new passport is ready and arraives at our office, we will send it to you via registered post. Delivery costs should be paid directly by the applicant upon receipt of the passport. This is approximately KRW 6,000-8000 in cash. If you would prefer to pick up your passport in person from the Embassy, please let us know.
